Reducing Waste. Increasing Value.

The Challenge

Sludge, reeds, grass, laminated paper are often labeled unusable. Disposal is costly, and too much ends up burned or in nature today.

The Solution

TORWASH® plugs into existing processes to convert hard-to-treat waste into reusable raw materials for new plastics and bio-chemicals.

The Impact

We rethink customer processes to cut waste volumes and create circular streams that can be reused 100%, generating clear value today.

The challenge of
unused waste

The world is full of unutilized waste. We already recycle a lot of waste, but an even larger portion is considered by many to be unusable and this creates an ever-growing challenge.

Examples include sludge from companies with complex water treatment systems such as Dutch water boards or the paper industry, waste for which a lot of money is paid to dispose of. Other under-utilized waste streams are roadside grass, reeds from our waterways, or laminated paper, where the plastic cannot be separated.

This creates a huge pile of waste worldwide that is difficult to process and often ends up in inefficient waste incineration plants. Not to mention all the waste that inadvertently ends up in the environment and causes, for example, the plastic soup in our seas. This calls for a different perspective, for thinking differently. Looking differently at unused waste streams.

How TORWASH®
creates value from waste

By integrating TORWASH® systems at the right places in the customer’s production process, we convert their waste into reusable raw materials, which form the basis of products such as new virgin plastic or energy carriers that can be used directly for energy generation, or for the production of bio-chemicals.

We think along and look differently at the processes of our customers. Because it is precisely then that we can make the biggest impact together. By thinking outside the box, we create more efficient processes with “waste streams” that can be reused 100%.

In short, together with our customers, we create processes to reduce their waste streams, better utilize them, and add value. That way, we want to make the world a little bit better.
